    Small Cap Equity Strategy

Our Small Cap Equity strategy is primarily designed for investors who are interested in investing in only small (and some mid-) capitalization companies to hopefully achieve superior capital appreciation. This strategy is typically appropriate for investors with a high level of risk tolerance and lesser liquidity needs. Generally, we seek to invest in companies that meet some of the same criteria as our other equity strategies, but with an emphasis on securities with very high return potential that may be earlier stage in their life-cycles (and thus may have added risk).

We believe that opportunities are more abundant in small capitalization stocks as this area is generally less efficient than large capitalization stocks. There are more stocks to review and fewer analysts looking at them.

Please refer to the Stock Selection philosophy page for a more in-depth explanation about our methodology for selecting stocks. This strategy was launched in January of 2009.
